1 Percent for the Planet

1% for the Planet

1% For The Planet is a growing global movement of 1,201 companies that donate 1% of their gross sales to a network of more than 3,382 environmental organizations worldwide. Loll is proud and thankful to help with their Mission: 1% for the Planet exists to build and support an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet.

All of us at Loll are excited to be able to contribute to environmental groups working every day to keep our planet blue and green. Again, for our sixth year as a member of 1%, we are abiding by the theory of thinking globally and acting locally with our donations. Thanks goes out to the groups listed below for their earnest environmental efforts, but also to our customers who in the most significant way enable us to make our donations possible. Thank you!

Friends of the BWCAW Friends of the BWCAW

Friends of the BWCAW:

Leading the effort to protect and restore the BWCAW from adverse environmental threats is the Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness. The Friendsí’ mission is to protect, preserve and restore the wilderness character of the BWCAW and the Quetico-Superior Ecosystem. The organization formed in 1976 to protect this vulnerable area and two years later shepherded legislation through Congress that brought full protection to the Boundary Waters. Today, the Minneapolis, Minnesota-based organization of 4,000 members is a sentry against further harm in the BWCAW and the Quetico-Superior Ecosystem. Their current fight against the threat of sulfide mining that could adversely affect not only the BWCAW but areas in the watershed extending to Duluth, Lake Superior and beyond is crucial to support.

Sustainabl Twin Ports Sustainable Twin Ports

Sustainable Twin Ports

Sustainable Twin Ports is dedicated to furthering economic, environmental & social sustainability in the western Lake Superior region through education, networking and action. Community – Environment – Economy – We believe everyone in the twin ports of Duluth, MN and Superior, WI value the health of all three. Sustainable Twin Ports has decided to move from belief to action by teaching our neighbors, businesses and public entities how to take meaningful steps toward sustainability. We all make hundreds of decisions every day, all day long. While most of us consider the economic side, few stop long enough to consider the effects of those decisions on the Environment, or on other people. By working together, we can create transformational change toward a healthier community, a healthier environment and a healthier bottom line.
